Firm Foundations!!

I am so excited to report that I will begin Bible study with the Puentes de Vida Program women. I have been praying about this ever since we kicked off the program this past February. I have been waiting on Gods go ahead and for my relationship with these women to deepen. Now is the time:)  "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?" Esther 4:14(AMP)
I have found a curriculum called Firm Foundations and it goes from creation to revelation. The Cabecar people learn much better by telling stories and this curriculum comes with all the helps needed, I will use the Children's Spanish version for them as many of them do not have a higher education level. Please pray with me for God's provision in purchasing this curriculum, it runs around $80.00. I will begin, God willing in September. I plan on going to the reservation, where we have class once a month the day before and spending the night there to do Bible study and some art projects with the woman and then the women who come will be there for the class the next day. They will be more refreshed as some of them walk 8 hours to get to class.
This is such an incredible opportunity and I am so blessed to have the support of Judith and Cynthia, the Two Doctors I work with as well as the women in the program. God is knitting all our hearts together and it's beautiful. The way each one of us who teaches is gifted in different ways truly show the beauty of unity in the body of Christ.
"My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,"Colossians 2:2 They have been so loving, kind and patient with my Spanish and God is blessing this whole program. It was birthed out of God's heart and is based on being created in God's own image, so Bible study and who we are in Christ is so important. These women have the opportunity to be salt and light to their own people.... My friend and fellow missionary who has been serving the Cabecar Indians along with her family for many many years has told me that she would like to help me with the Bible study and even teach some in  Cabecar. This will also be a great help for me as I am hopeful to become conversational in their language.
I had the pleasure of hosting the women at the outpost again a couple months ago for some teaching and a mini retreat weekend. Our home church SMIC, had some men there working on our house and got to meet the women! enjoy the photos of these beautiful women and please join me in prayer as the Word goes forth. Please pray with me that God will give me the tongue of a poet (a Spanish one and the heart of the Father as I step out in faith.

"And it will come about in the last days
That the mountain of the house of the Lord
Will be established as the chief of the mountains.
It will be raised above the hills,
And the peoples will stream to it.
Many nations will come and say,
Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord
And to the house of the God of Jacob,
That He may teach us about His ways
And that we may walk in His paths.”

Scouting New Opportunities for Programa de Adventuras!

One of the schools on the reservation, we are hopeful to visit this year
Mark had the opportunity to venture into the reservation a few weeks back with a friend of ours to see what doors God might open  and what relationships might be developed in relation to the Adventure/Discipleship Program. Mark has been faithful to keep his vision of getting his family into a house but has been chomping at the bit to get to the work God has called him to here in Paso Marcos and the surrounding reservation. As the completion of the house draws near, hopefully with in the next 2 months, Mark has been in prayer about the Adventure/Discipleship Program and asks that you would be in prayer with him concerning the young men that will potentially participate as well as the curriculum the Lord will provide for this program. Much needs to be done! Low and high ropes courses will need to be built, equipment needs to be purchased, a climbing wall is in the vision, and more importantly, the relationships that have and are developing with the young men here. The hope is to  lead these young men to Christ, build the body or Christ with strong leaders rooted and grounded in the Word of God and confident in their identity as men of God. The living True God.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
